Optical illusion invented by Ron Keas Train in the snow
Ron Keas invented this optical illusion in 1985. This box with a framed pane of glass is only 4 inches deep, but you see a train with 16 cars curving around the bend in a mountain snow scene. On the right and left are trees and snow banks with yellow light. Overhead are clouds with a bluish light coming through, lighting up the snow. On the right is a row of telephone poles that follow an empty train track. The lights from the passenger train cars light up the snow banks. On the side of the box is a switch that turns the train off so you can't see it, and another switch that lights up only the train car windows. A third switch lights up the clouds. The engine is attached to the front of the glass with a section of track beneath it. The train can be adjusted to be on a straight or curved track. It disappears into the darkness after what appears to a distance of 5 feet. Echo Vision illusion need no special viewers, glasses, or viewing techniques.
Gold Mine
Ron is accepting commissions to build this kind of illusion into your display cabinets, etc. So far he has done a vineyard, a banquet dining table with chandelier, a train in the snow, and a gold mine with ore casr filled with gold. The boxes are 5 inches deep, but the illusion appears to be 5 feet deep. |
